Confused about Website Hosting ?
Learn about website
hosting space, disc space and bandwidth or
transfer limit.
Determining how much disk space and bandwidth limit you will need for your
website can be confusing. One point to keep in mind is that initially your
website will probably not generate very much traffic. I suggest that you
choose a low cost basic or starter plan from the web hosting company that
charges the lowest monthly fee.
You can always upgrade later if you need more disk space or bandwidth. Before you decide to use a free webhosting
plan …. find out what the monthly cost will be if your website exceeds
the free bandwidth limit provided by the free webhosting server. This will
save you time, energy & aggravation later on.
Bandwidth or transfer limit is the amount of data that you are
allowed to transfer per month. Bandwidth is used each time your webpage
is viewed. With that in mind, it makes sense that until your page is
generating a lot of traffic to host your site using a low cost web hosting plan.
Disk space refers
to the amount of storage space allocated by the web hosting company. Every
file that you upload to your server takes up disk space. This includes
html files, graphics, sound files, audio clips, etc. The low cost web hosting
plans offered by the web hosting companies on this site provide more than
enough disk/web space and bandwidth so you probably will not
have to worry about upgrading for a very long time, if ever at all..
